The Centennial State, Colorado

Colorado is the Centennial State, following it's admission as the 38th State to the Union on August 1st, 1886, some 100 years after the birth of the United Sates of America.

Boulder is famous for its colorful Western history, being a choice destination for hippies in the late 1960s, and as home of the main campus of the University of Colorado, the state's largest university. Furthermore, the city of Boulder frequently receives high rankings in art, health, well-being, quality of life, and education.

The Boulder community is served by Boulder Valley School District which provides: Community courses and extended day care opportunities to district residents by Community Schools. It operates four programs: Lifelong Learning, which offers courses for adults and children; Kindergarten Care, which offers extended child care for kindergarten students, the School Age Program, which offers before and after school programs and summer day camps for elementary school students; and the BVSD Facility Use Program, which makes school facilities available to the public.

Boulder is known as a "foodie town." You can grab a bite to eat at any one of the many award-winning, innovative restaurants after a long day's hike. And while you're visiting what's considered "the Napa Valley for Craft Brewing," why not take a break for a cold one? In Boulder alone, there are dozens of some of the country's finest microbrews. The city also has nearly 50 coffee and tea shops. Stroll-worthy Downtown Boulder is a great place to start exploring.
